Doyle Stutzman founded Compass Computer Group in 1996. Since that date, technology has changed dramatically, and I was impressed how Compass has met the challenge. As I was sitting in Doyle’s office, I noticed pictures on his bookshelf and had to get up and look at them. Both were of men that had some connection in changing the world as we knew it. One picture was with Steve Wozniak, and the other was with Neil Armstrong. “When did you meet these guys?” I pointed to each one. Doyle smiled and humbly shrugged his shoulders.
“A long time ago.” He said softly.
I had always been taught to surround yourself with people that inspire you with pictures or books. In my opinion, not to shabby.
I continued to look at his bookshelves and noticed tech books and business books. I was also taught that one should never stop learning. I looked at his library. Again, not too shabby.
A compass, as a tool, helps one find true north and find the direction that one wants to travel. Our future self, if we did not follow the compass’ arrow, we can find ourselves in a place we did not want to be. That is never good.
Doyle, when he named the Company Compass Computer Group Inc., he envisioned walking with his Clients as an arrow always pointing towards technology true north. Therefore, their futures would land in the right place with the right tech.
Doyle expanded the services into Managed Services, such as, Email Hosting, Malware Protection to name a few. Compass also works with Hardware and Software in sale, installation and support. Compass provides service in VOIP Phones, and Cloud Services. Finally, Consulting for HIPPA and PCI Compliance, User Helpdesk Support and more. There are a comprehensive number of tools in the Compass Computer toolbox.
When visitors come into the office, it is usually Doyle that will meet you and greet you. Not all the time, but most of the time. For Doyle, even though he is a Tech Guy and is fascinated with new technologies, I guess for him courtesy never goes out of style.
